UMB will as far as possible strive to make necessary arrangements for students with disabilities or special needs, whether it is due to visual or hearing impairment, mobility disabilities, reading and writing difficulties, asthma, allergies, anxiety, chronic illness or other reasons. This includes facilitation both during your study period and/or exams.

Special needs during exam
The Department of Academic Affairs provides a coordinated service for students with disabilities or medical conditions that may affect their examination.
Arrangements like extended examination time, use of PC during exams, special educational tools, special examination conditions, alternative forms of examination or your own examination room. Examples of how we can facilitate your exams
Facilitation during study period
If you have disabilities that need individual facilitation during your study period, please contact the Department of Academic Affairs for assistance. This applies both to temporary arrangements during parts of your study period or arrangements during the entire study. Documentation from a doctor, specialist or other experts must be presented.
Application deadline
Students, who for medical reasons need extended examination time or other special arrangements for their exams, have to apply to the Department of Academic Affairs;
within 1 october for - autumn parallel, re-examination (konte) and January block exams
within 1 March for - spring parallel, re-examination (konte) and June block exams.
Documentation from a doctor, specialist or other experts must be presented, Exam Regulations at UMB § 38-6 and § 40-1. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this matter.
How to apply when you need facilitation:
Please contact the Department of Academic Affairs by e-mail or phone to arrange for a meeting as soon as possible. You will find our contact information below.
If you need facilitation during exams you have to contact us within the deadline. Please contact us as if you have any questions regarding this.
Please bring your current medical documentation/certification to the meeting. The certification must be from a doctor or other specialist confirming your need for facilitation of your exams or study and the type of facilitation you need.
If you have not yet seen a doctor/specialist for your disabilities/special needs please contact us prior to making an appointment with a doctor/specialist and we will let you know what kind of documentation we require for your needs.
