Examples of facilitation for exams

Here is an overview of facilitation for exams for students with documented disabilities or special needs.

- Extended time during exams*

- Use of PC during exams (cannot be granted for all courses)

- Breaks during exam to breast feed babies

- Soft pen/pencil

- Your own examination room

- Oral examination (instead of written, cannot be granted for all courses)

- Written examination (instead of oral, cannot be granted for all courses)

- Special chairs, rising and lowering table

- Wheelchair users and students with mobility disabilities: examination will take place in rooms with wheelchair access.

- Special tools for students with visual impairment

*Extended time. Chapter 5 § 5-6 Examination Regulations at UMB
Ad. 5-6 Ten minutes extra are granted for 45 minute tests/exams, and respective extensions for tests/examslasting up to 1½ hours.

For tests/exams longer than 2-3,5 hours, ½ hour extra is granted. For home exams, the following extensions are granted:
- Exams lasting longer than 24 hours: 3 hours extra
- Exams lasting longer than 36 hours: 5 hours extra
- Exams lasting longer than 48 hours: 7 hours extra
