Universal Design at UMB

Studieavdelingen

Universal design or "accessibility for all" means broad-spectrum solution that are usable and effective for everyone, so that as many as possible can participate without any special facilitation.

UMB is working towards become a universally designed university but we have a long way to go. This is mainly due to our old buildings. An important part of this work is to prepare and adopt a concrete and realistic plan of action. The Learning Environment Committee appointed a working group in 2009 to revise the existing plan of action for students with disabilities. The working group consists of the project group working with the physical learning environment, and the vice-president of the Student Board, Nils-Ener Lund Bakken.

Current plan of action: Plan of action for students with disabilities 2001-2010 (in Norwegian only)
