Pain exercise

Judit Banfine Vas

How do we know what animals are feeling? Because animals cannot speak, we have to pay attention to what their body language and behaviour tells us. This is difficult, and requires both knowledge and experience.

By completing this pain exercise you will increase your confidence and ability to do just that. You will learn how to recognize and identify pain indicators in production animals, as well as estimating the level of pain they are experiencing. You will also have the opportunity to compare you answers to those of educated pain experts and all others who have taken the same test.

Click here to read more about pain assessment and to follow the exercise in English or Norwegian. It will take you 20 - 30 minutes to complete the exercise.

Good luck!
