To access these services, you need to connect to
VPN, in order to reach the university network.
Next, you connect to a "remote desktop terminal server". This acts as a remote desktop where you work as if you were on a computer in one of UMBs computer labs.
If you want to use "remote desktop terminal server" on a MAC, you need to download a free application from Microsoft. From here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/remote-desktop/default.mspx chose “

Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk. If you are using Safari, the downloaded file is saved to the desktop, unless you specified a different location in the
Preferences dialog box of Safari. Double-click the file that you downloaded.
If the installation finishes successfully this screen will appear
To log on with “
Remote Desktop”. In finder go to Application. Then open
“Remote Desktop ”Connection
Type "s-tshome.stud.umb.no" for access to software and printing.

In the login window that now appears, type your username and the zone1 password, then select STUD in the drop-down menu and click "OK".
You have now entered the desktop you can work from. Under "My documents" are all files on your area, as well as on your computer. On the desktop, and startmenu you find the programs as if you where working og an UMB Computer lab. Select as usual RICOH or Océ printers when printing.
Good luck
