Welcome to the Students Computer Service

Studentenes datatjeneste

The Computer Service consists of students hired by the IT-section at UMB and it has the purpose to help other students at the university with computer trouble and internet access. You can find us at the first floor of the TF-building.

The Students Computer Service can help you with network card registration, installation of antivirus- and antispyware programs, internet access, computer misbehaviour, password and username and other computer-related problems you might experience.

Class Fronter
We don't have anything to do with Class Fronter (To get help regarding this service, write an e-mail to fronterhjelp@umb.no), and we can not help you with student card activation to get physical access to different buildings (For this you should go to the Student Information Centre (SIT)).

In addition, we can not help you install non-approved software, reinstallation of operating system, hardware repairs or deal with computers that have lower specifications than a Pentium 4-processor, 512MB RAM and/or Windows XP.

Our knowledge regarding Macintosh and Linux is limited, but we will try our best to help.
