Oscarsborg and surroundings The conferense will take place near Ås on an island just outside Drøbak;
Oscarsborg Fortress dating back to 1853.
The fortress has a proud and dramatic history, and is best known for its heroic role during World War II.
Nearby lies the coastal village of
Drøbak with narrow 18th- and 19th-century streets lined with small wooden houses that give the town an idyllic touch.
At the charming city square, Torget, we find the popular Tregaarden's Christmas House and Santa's Post Office.
It is possible to take a ferry from Drøbak through the Oslofjord archipelago to the green city of
Oslo.
The beautiful location at the head of Oslo Fjord surrounded by forested ridges gives the city qualities that you do not normally expect from a capital.
Besides Oslo has a rich and varied cultural life and many attractions, it offers something for every taste!
A big thank you to our sponsors for supporting the 13th Nordic-Baltic IHSS symposium:
