The Spring Conference at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) will be held Thursday 26 May 2011 in Bioteknologibygningen, Campus Ås. - Registration deadline May 9.

The title of the conference is "LANDconflict 2011 - smart land use or increased level of conflict?"

• Will land conflicts increase in the future?
• How can research contribute to smart land use? 
• Climate measures, land grabbing and conflicts. 
• How do we ensure sustainable development management of the world’s land resources? 

In addition to several of UMB's top researchers,  the Norwegian Minister of Environment and International Development Erik Solheim and Umoe Group President Jens Ulltveit-Moe will speak at the conference. 

UMB is expecting a high level interest in the conference and places are limited. There is no conference fee. Simultaneous interpretation from Norwegian to English will be available.
