The Norwegian University of Life Sciences are pleased to invite you to our annual spring conference, Environment 2010.
The theme for the conference is "Environment and Society – circuit or short-circuit?"
How can we contribute to a more environmentally sound society?
What about environmental challenges that have been placed in the shadow of the climate change agenda?
Will new technology save the world from environmental disaster, as technology optimists predict?
Will we manage to develop a more intelligent production and a more intelligent consumption to reduce our ecological footprints?
The rainforest initiative has made Norway climate world champions, but what about at home?
In addition to several of UMB’s own environmental scientists, Ingeborg Gjærum, former chairman of Nature and Youth, and adjunct professor Bjørn Lomborg, Copenhagen Business School, amongst others, will contribute. Our aim is to facilitate diverse and challenging discussions.
UMB is expecting a high level interest in the conference, which is held in cooperation with Bioforsk, Nofima and the Norwegian Forest and Landscape Institute.
There is no conference fee, but you need to register to attend.
Simultaneous interpretation from Norwegian to English will be available.
