Supplementary Election University Board

Ingeborg Hauge Høyland

Sigrid Gåseidnes ends at UMB 1.12. 2011 and deputy Even Bergseng enter as a permanent member of the US. The election board will conduct supplementary elections for a new deputy.


The election of a new deputy member chosen by the temporary staff in teaching and research positions, will take place in period 14 to 16 December 2011.

Nominations of candidates must be received by the election board no later than 8 December 2011 at 15.00.

The Board at the University of Life Sciences shall consist of:  (cf. § 13 of the Valgreglementet for UMB) 

•    Rector (Board Chair)
•    two representatives of the permanent employees in teaching and research positions
•    one representative of the temporary employees in teaching and research positions
•    one representative of the technical and administrative employees
•    two representatives of the students
•    four external representatives

The representative and deputy representative elected by and from among the temporary staff in teaching and research position will be elected for one year at a time.

In this supplementary election the candidate shall be a woman, cf valreglementet § 13 paragraph 5 letter b

Eligibility for election and duty to accept election
Employees who have held a minimum of a 50% position in the relevant position categories by 15 November shall be eligible for this supplementary election.

However, an employee who has been employed for less than one year shall not be eligible for election unless the person in question has been in a consecutive employment relationship with the University for at least one year at the time of the election.

Who can submit proposals for candidates?

Anyone who is eligible to vote at this election may nominate any person who is eligible for election from within their own voter category. Nominations must be signed by at least five eligible voters.

Everyone has the right to vote in this category, advancing proposals on candidates. Census will be published on Friday 18 November 2011.
