Joanna Boddens-Hosang

IUCN - The World Conservation Union is giving attention to the research activities by UMB professor Sylvi Haldorsen in a NUFU-funded project in the St Lucia lagoon in South Africa.

IUCN is the world’s largest conservation network with 82 States, 111 government agencies, more than 800 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and some 10,000 scientists and experts from 181 countries in a unique worldwide partnership.

UMB has been member of IUCN since 1988 through the Department of Ecology and Natural Resource Management. Noragric is affiliate member of IUCN. Norway has 6 members in IUCN that are assembled in the Norwegian National Committee (NC) of IUCN. Noragric's Thor Larsen is chair of the NC, and Joanna Boddens-Hosang (Dept. of Academic Affairs/Noragric) is secretary for the NC.
