Student Environment
Steinar HaugsværUMB is known for its excellent student environment. Student policy issues are dealt with by the Student Union, including daily contact with the University Foundation for Student Life in Ås (SiÅs) and the student representatives in UMB’s various political bodies (councils, committees, etc.). Another vital part of student life at UMB is the Student Union Building (Studentsamfunnet), where students meet and arrange their own concerts, meetings, exhibits, lectures, etc.
UMB also cooperates with SiÅs, e.g., by having two representatives on the SiÅs board and by allocating financial support to SiÅs each year. This cooperation also adds to securing a well-functioning student environment.
