Cecilie, Rolstad Denby
The Research Group in Geosciences is part of Section of Geomatics, a unit of 9 permanent and 5 temporary fulltime positions and 4 adjunct professors (20%), with expertise andteaching duties in geodesy, surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS, andcartography. R&D-activities of the section are in engineering applications and in studies of natural surface processes on planet Earth.
The research group consists of 5 senior scientists who share interests in geoscientific research, 4 PhD fellows, and 1 postdoc. Topics are in glaciology (glacier mass changes: surface energy balance modelling and observations, error assessment of geodetic and direct glaciological mass balance, and thermodynamical numerical ice volume modelling; calving of glaciers: observations from terrestrial photogrammetry, satellite images, and ground based interferometric radar with subsequent multivariate statistical analyses of geodetic and geophysical data), geodynamics (post-glacial rebound and land uplift (i.e. visco-elastic processes and GIA-processes); ocean tide loading at high latitudes (elastic processes); temporal hydrological variability observed from ground and space), and land surface changes observed by remote sensing techniques.
