Health UMB is the Norwegian University of Life Sciences focus on preventative and rehabilitative healthcare through research and education for 2005-2010 . Health UMB is divided into three research groups; Food and Health, Nature, Health and Quality of Life and Health and Development.

VisionUMB shall be recognized nationally and internationally for its academic excellence in and contributions to preventative and rehabilitative health, particularly within the areas of food, nature, water and development.
Aim Through collaboration with academic institutions within the fields of medicine, nutrition, health and social sciences, UMB shall create a unique and clearly defined national and international niche and position within preventative and rehabilitative healthcare locally, nationally and globally
Organizational structure • Leadership group: Gerd Vegarud, Bjarne Braastad, Cassandra Bergstrøm
The leadership group has responsibility for establishing an integrated health program at UMB. They are also liasons between UMB and targetted medical, nutritional and social science institutions.
• Academic forum for Health UMB
An inter-disciplinary forum comprised of one representative from each of UMB’s eight departments together with the 3 research group leaders (11 total). The forum will be an arena to meet and discuss the overall health program – setting particular light on cross-cutting issues, questions and topics for all three health programs.
• Health seminar series
An open lecture series for both UMB staff and students with monthly presentations during the academic year – 9/yr. Presentations will alternate among the different programs profiling both UMB and external lecturers

Both internal and external channel of regularly updated information will be provided as a means to profile UMBs health strategy.
