Department of Animal and Aquacultural Sciences (IHA) The Department Board The Department Board shall function as the University Board’s executive body at the department, ensure the effective management of the department’s resources, assure the quality of teaching and research and develop internal and external cooperation.
In general, the Department Board meets 3-4 times per semester, however, additional meetings can be held if necessary. The case documents can be accessed one week before each meeting, except for cases related to employment and other personnel issues.
Appointment and composition of the board The University Board freely appoints a board at each department, based on department and student nominations. Staff representatives are usually appointed for a 4-year period, student representatives for one year. When appointing board members, gender equality shall be considered. The department boards are chaired by the department heads, who are appointed for a fixed term by the University Board.
