10. Dec: Lene Olsen, Trine Eker Christoffersen and Lene Halvorsen presented research projects at the Food and Health seminar, UMB

2. - 4. dec: Charlotte Kleiveland and Lene Olsen participated at the Cancer Stem Cell Research conference in Oslo, and presented a POSTER.

JUNE 2009:


Summerparty at Tor's house:
Tor served a fantastic three course dinner for 13 people consisting of seafood, chicken and cake.
A fantastic evening for the Molecular Cell Biology research group.






































We congratulate Taslim Mirza, Kaia Mobråten and Lene Sveen with the Master degrees that they defended in mid June. Best wishes for the future.





























We welcome Kjetil Fosnes as a member of our research group. Kjetil is employed as a senior engineer and will primarily be working with research tasks.
































MAY 2009:

Professor Tor Lea gave the lecture "Techno-food - is it really that simple?" when the University of Life Sciences celebrated its 150th jubilee by arranging the "Food 2009" conference.




































Exhange students from HIØ
A group of four students from Biomedical Laboratory Science (bioingeniørstudiet) at Østfold College University (HIØ) did their final year project in our laboratory leading up to a bachelor degree in medical laboratory technology.  PROJECT POSTER






























APRIL 2009:

Our research group was involved in the arrangement of a workshop at the Ekebergrestauranten. 
The aim of this workshop was to continue the conversations concerning the future "Mage-tarmhelse" research platform. More than fifty scientists participated where the majority represented UMB, the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH) or the National Veterinary Institute (VI). 






























MARCH 2009:


Master student Mariann Haraldstad, Ph.D. student Lene Halvorsen and Post. doc. Lene Olsen Hult developed a functional protocol for imaging polarized cells by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

FEBRUARY 2009: 

A new course "BIO301 Advanced Cell Biology" headed by Tor Lea, started with 37 enrolled students. 





JANUARY 2009: 

Prof. II Morten Jacobsen started lecturing at UMB. He was lecuring in the course 
MVI392 "Fordøyelsessystemets fysiologi og anatomi."


















Master student Stian André Engen started his work in our laboratory.




























Linn Wilhelmsen presented a poster at the Norwegian Biochemical Society 45th contact meeting at Røros.








DECEMBER 2008:

The master students made a gingerbreadhouse with a scientific twist.
