Link to 1st Nordic Malaria Conference.
The Nordic countries have for many years been doing research in the fields of both human and non-human malaria. The major aim of the 1st Nordic Malaria Conference is to gather all persons who work in malaria research in these countries – but also internationally – to strengthen the interaction between researchers, and to communicate and disperse knowledge. The conference will be held at the Scandic Star Hotel in Lund and at the University of Lund. Lectures will focus on both human and animal malaria and will cover everything from basic parasite molecular biology and entomology to the outcome of usage of bed-nets and medication.
Hans Overgaard has experience from malaria mosquito research and vector control in Asia and Africa. He is currently project leader at IMT for the DIADEN project: “Link between Diarrhea and Dengue: Fecal contamination and dengue mosquito production in household water containers in Southeast Asia”. The DIADEN project also involves two PhD students at IMT: Nsa Dada og Nanthasane Vannavong.
