Ole Wiggo Røstad

The department has a broad and varied field of research. INA shall undertake both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, as well as discipline orientated research.


Scientific disciplines
INA undertakes research activities in the following areas:
- Behavioural ecology
- Biodiversity, evolutionary genetics and conservation biology
- Botany and zoology
- Sustainable forest, game and fish management
- Renewable energy
- Consequences of land use and habitat changes
- Market and resource economy and planning
- Nature based tourism
- Population ecology
- Resource mapping
- Wood technology
- Ecophysiology
- Ecotoxicology

Research groups
The aim of the research groups is mainly to contribute to the associates research identity and development. It is also a place for idea development and creation of new research projects. At the department there are six research groups: 
- Biodiversity, systematics and evolution 
- Wildlife management and ecology 
- Plant-animal interactions 
- Resource economics, markets and society 
- Forest and wood 
- Environmental change biology

There is a large variety of research projects at the department.

PhD students
A significant part of the research at INA is done by our PhD students. This work ends in a doctor tesis.
