How to feed the hungry in the 21st century? Guest lecture by Shenggen Fan

Feeding a growing world population will be a great challenge, requiring appropriate policies to reduce poverty and generating aricultural growth. Shenggen Fan, one of the world's leading researchers on these topics will give an open guest lecture at UMB in Urbygningen 218, Wednesday Sept. 15th 1300-1415

 Shenggen Fan has conducted extensive research on pro-poor development strategies in developing countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His work has helped identify which kinds of public spending are most effective in reducing poverty and generating agricultural growth. Shenggen Fan was appointed director general of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in December 2009.
