Dr. Scient (2005), Associate professor in nuclear chemistry/analytical chemistry/environmental chemistry at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB). She is lead scientist of the Isotope laboratory and part of the local radiation protection authority for Campus Aas. She has published about 30 articles in peer review journals and has participated in many international research programmes, including the EU 3., 4., 5.and 6. Framework programmes.
Research interests have been radiochemistry and environmental chemistry, speciation and kinetics, radioecology and the use of isotopes to study environmental processes. The recent work has been focusing method development and tracer techniques, particularly directed towards the transuranics and other “exotic” radionuclides (Pu-isotopes, U-isotopes, 241Am, 237Np, 99Tc, 129I) using different MS instruments (AMS, ICP-MS). Another field of research interest is measurements and environmental behaviour of TENORM nuclides (technically enhanced natural occurring radioactive material like U-isotopes, Th, Ra-isotopes, 210Pb, 210Po). She has experience from sample work related to the Chernobyl accident (Ukraine, Belarus, Russia), from dumped waste in the Kara Sea, at Mayak PA, Ural, Sellafield, UK and La Hague, France as well as from central-Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan). |
