The Green Dictionary – On the Internet contains about 28,400 English, German and Norwegian entries, as well as the Latin names of about 1,800 plants, animals and other organisms. The term base covers "green" terminology from such fields as food and environmental science, agriculture, forestry, botany and zoology.
About 1,700 new entries were recently added to the dictionary – including numerous bird and fish names, and other 'popular' creatures like the Spanish (or: killer) slug. The update also includes terms from the current climate change debate, such as "Carbon Capture and Storage".
Anyone active or interested in "green" issues will find the Green Dictionary useful. The online term base has flexible search functions and the user interface is available in English, German and Norwegian.
