Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Mitigation (CCIAM) programme in Tanzania

The 5-year CCIAM programme focuses on promoting natural forest conservation, afforestation, reforestation and better agricultural practices for improved livelihoods related to the “Reduced Emissions from Deforestations and Forest Degradation (REDD)” initiative.
Partners under CCIAM
CCIAM's main coordinator in Tanzania is
Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), with the
University of Dar es Salaam,
Ardhi University and the
Tanzania Meteorological Agency as partners. The Norwegian University of Life Sciences through its Department of International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric) is the main partner from the Norwegian side. The programme is funded through the
Norwegian embassy in Tanzania.

Seminar on CCIAM projects at Noragric 2 March 2012
An open seminar was organised by the research cluster "Agricultural Development, Livelihood and Environmental Change" (ADLEC) with presentations from CCIAM participants (Noragric students and staff and an external speaker.) The seminar's objective was to familiarize the participants about activities under CCIAM. PhD students from Tanzania presented their proposals for PhD projects and researchers discussed the activities in the different projects and experiences/results.
