What Has Been Achieved, What Has Not – and How May the Norwegian Climate Fund Make the Right Difference?
Visiting Lecture by Arnaldo Carneiro, Instituto Socioambiental (ISA), Brazil
Chair of Plenary Debate: Natalie Unterstell, ISA/RFN/NORAGRIC
Thursday June 19th, 13h-15h
Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Ås
Festsalen (Urbygningen)
Precious biodiversity and the livelihoods and dignity of indigenous people are at stake in the Amazon. So is the world’s ‘lung capacity’ and our ability to halt climate change. For the last 15 years, Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) has been at the very forefront in the Brazilian struggle to protect the Amazon, its biodiversity and habitats. In this work ISA combines remarkable monitoring technology with ground-breaking advocacy and community work.
This is a rare opportunity to meet and discuss with Arnaldo Carneiro, one of ISA’s foremost specialists in monitoring – to learn more about the reality on the ground, and debate how Norway’s multi-billion Climate Fund may be spent so as to make the right difference.
