PhD scholarship available for East European or Central Asian candidate

Noragric is offering a quota scholarship for a PhD candidate from a collaborating institution in an Eastern European or Central Asian country. The scholarship starts in August 2011 and lasts up to four years.
Relevant topics within international environmental and development studies may include the following themes:
- Climate: REDD, mitigation and adaptation
- Biodiversity management
- Governance and politics
- Social conflicts
- Post-war conflict resolution
- Land management
- Agricultural development
Eligible countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Candidates affiliated to partner institutions are particularly invited to apply for the scholarship.
The requirements for admission to the PhD programme in Environment and Development Studies at Noragric are:
- Application form for the quota scheme with all required attachments
- A master degree, or equivalent, relevant for the PhD programme and the GPA should be B or better.
- A research proposal of a maximum of 10 pages within the
research areas of Noragric - Additional funding of 296.000 NOK is required for the 4-year period. This includes running costs for the student's stay in Norway but not fieldwork related costs.
