All courses given by the department are taught in English. About 250 students representing 40 nations are enrolled in the programmes. Bachelor students are encouraged to spend one semester at a university in the South. Most of Noragric’s Master students attend field courses in Uganda and Nepal to obtain practical experience in development and environmental management. Master and PhD students also conduct field research in a developing country in preparation of their theses.

Study programmes:

Bachelor programme in Development Studies
Master's programme in Development Studies
Master's programme in International Environmental Studies
PhD programme in Development Studies

All programmes have an interdisciplinary approach and focus on the challenges linked to the concept of sustainable development as an interdisciplinary field of study. Noragric is also active in relation to education and development cooperation policies. The Education programme is headed by the Head of Education. Noragric Education Committee advises the Head of Education and supports the programme.
