Thor Heyerdahl Summer School in Environmental Governance

Josie Teurlings

Noragric is organising the Thor Heyerdahl Summer School in Envirionmental Governance. The first course will be on Institutions for sustainable development and will take place from June 20 until July 1, 2011. Professor Elinor Ostrom will be one of the keynote speakers.

The Thor Heyerdahl Summer School in Environmental Governance offers PhDs and young researchers the opportunity to develop high level skills in analysing governance issues like climate change, biodiversity preservation, sustainable use of biological resources, water management, and pollution. The Summer School creates an arena for critical reflection on the present status of both theory and practice in the field, and an opportunity to discuss alternatives to current developments and solutions.

Professor Arild Vatn is responsible for convening the series.
