Joanna Boddens-Hosang
Several UMB students, including from Noragric, have raised NOK 35,000 (about Euro 4,270) to assist partner university COMSATS in efforts to help flood victims in Pakistan. The students organized a flea market, lottery and auction with Norwegian actor/comedian Zahid Ali.
The
COMSATS activities are being coordinated by former Noragric PhD student Bahadar Nawab, now Head of Development Studies at COMSATS. A link to what is being done can be found
here.
UMB staff are asked to support the project of which all the funds will go to Pakistan.
Each NOK will be matched by the equivalent amount by UMB if transferred by 23h59 on Monday 1 November! Bank account number:
7694.05.12510, with reference “Students for Pakistan, ansatt”. First year Noragric Master student in Development Studies Connor Cavanagh will soon travel to Pakistan to join Dr Ingrid Nyborg to witness first-hand the effects of the flood. He will report on the situation and how the relief activities are progressing upon his return.
