Visit from Malawi

Poul Wisborg

This week Noragric is hosting five visitors from Malawi. The team leader is Mr Alick Manda from the National Research Council, and the Chair of the Agricultural Research and Development Programme (ARDEP). Four staff are from Bunda College: Mary Wasiri, Registrar, James Banda, Programme Coordinator, Barrettie Kondowe, Accountant and Chimwemwe Selemani, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. The team is here to follow up ARDEP research collaboration and learn about university management and other issues related to the diverse collaboration between UMB and Bunda College.

On Tuesday 17 June the team visited The Blind Cow farm to learn about entrepreneurship in farming from Inger Rosenfeldt, who has achieved fame for her achievements in cheese and mushroom production and other activities on her farm nearby Ås. The team went on to enjoy a walk in Drøbak and a meal at the Skipperstua Restaurant overlooking the harbour.

The team has been having a range of meetings and collaborative activities with staff at Noragric, other parts of the UMB and with partners in Oslo.
