Congratulations to William Warner!

The Writing Centre is proud to announce that William Warner has received two distinguishing awards for Spring 2012: Best Lecturer and the Fronter Prize.  William beat out the competition and snapped up both awards for his outstanding performance as lecturer for LNG240 (Academic Writing), a class closely associated with the Writing Centre.

The Best Lecturer prize is awarded each semester, based on student nominations.  One LNG240 student had the following to say about William:

I really like that his presentations are so well structured, and the information on his slides are useful for your future writing.  I think it is good that he offers the course every semester. He is an amusing teacher, and I always looked forward to his lectures, even though they were at 08:00. If you are struggling with your writing, this course is a good investment, and takes away the fear of writing.

William’s pedagogical use of the learning platform Fronter earned him his second award. The judges noted his interaction with students, and the individual attention paid to each one, both online and in the classroom. In particular, the judges were impressed with the tailored feedback given on student assignments, and the use of Writing Centre TAs as teachers.

We at the Writing Centre are particularly proud that William’s hard work and dedication have finally been recognized, confirming what we have known along – that William is an exceptional teacher, and a credit to Noragric.

On behalf of all TAs at the Writing Centre, congratulations William Warner!
