UMB is an active partner in research activities initiated by the European Commission.
The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) has extensive experience in international cooperation and
UMB's strategy for 2010-2013 states that the University will further develop research collaboration with international research groups. Increased participation in the European Research Area (ERA) is a key part of this. In recent years there has been a positive increase in the interest of the EU's 7th Framework Programme at UMB, and the university has seen an increase in the number of applications, acceptance rate, and grants from the Framework Programme.
UMB EU projects
UMB has 20 projects funded under the EU 7 Framework Programme (FP7) per 1.3.2012. In the 6th Framework Programme (FP6) the university attended in 21 projects. UMB are also participating in several projects within INTERREG, COST and other European initiatives.
