This will help you to locate your classrooms, the computer labs, study advisors, the Student Information Centre (SiT), the Students’ Union, and much more when classes begin on Monday, 13 August.

During the registration weekend you will also receive a student card, data access, fire and safety training, information on IT systems (Studweb and Fronter) and info about the social life on campus in Ås.

The registration takes place in the computer lab in TF Building on Saturday (11 August) and Sunday (12 August). This is also the weekend for a lot of social activities and a great opportunity to meet new students.

On Saturday evening there will be a barbecue in the Pentagon student village. There, the university management will serve barbecued food to the new students. We recommend that all new students attend the registration weekend!

Student Life
The student environment at UMB is unique. It is small and easy to get to know, which is perhaps why it has become both big and rich culturally!

With over 80 clubs and organisations, there is something for everyone. Studentsamfunnet is the meeting place for students, and is also a very active concert location showcasing many attractive artistes all-year round.

UKA i Ås is the longest UKA (a type of student festival) in Norway, and will be organised in October 2012. Student Life in Ås (SiÅs) runs the rental of student housing, operates the university canteens, the gymnasium (training facilities), the bookstore, and printing and consulting services for the students, ensuring that they have a good life outside the lecture hall.

For those who like physical activities, they can find most sports they are used to at UMBI, the student sporting club, or discover exciting new disciplines, such as capoeira, Frisbee or Australian football.
