The language requirement for degree seeking students is the same irrespectively if the application is for a bachelor, master or a non-degree programme. UMB follows the general national requirements:


- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 500 for a paper based test, a score of at least 170 for a computer-based test or minimum 60 for an internet-based test.

- International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with a minimum score of 5.0.

- For alternative documentation please se the Language requirements from NOKUT - the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education.

For admission as an exchange student the language requirement is regulated by the exchange agreement.
